Register for the 2018 Beaumont Red October Run through Greenfield Village

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to run 5 kilometers through 300 years of American history!  Back by popular demand, the Beaumont Red October Run will return to the beautiful and historic Greenfield Village in 2018! Featured events include a 5K run, 5K walk and non-competitive 1 mile “Jr. October” for kids 12 and under.  Commemorative swag includes sharp shirts and finisher medals for runners, walkers and junior milers; and event-customized, name personalized number bibs for 5K runners and walkers. (Jr. Milers receive event-customized number “1” bibs.)  5K course is certifier measured; certification pending.  Additional amenities and highlights include separate starts and award structures for 5K runners and walkers; B-tag timing with immediate access to results; cider, donuts and other yummy post-race treats; fit and healthy displays; and, new for 2018, FREE PARTICIPANT PHOTOS!

Red October Run offers a unique opportunity to participate in an organized run through this fantastic venue, outside of normal operating hours and unobstructed by patron foot traffic. Note, due to hours of operation, runners and walkers should be able to maintain a 22 minute per mile or faster pace.

A longstanding celebration of fitness and activity as part of a healthy lifestyle, Red October Run supports youth fitness and nutrition education programs in conjunction with Beaumont’s Healthy Communities Initiative.

Location, schedule, details:

The Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn, MI 48124. Race parking is on the corner of Oakwood Blvd. and Village Rd. (This is where the museum's Welcome Center and Giant Screen Experience are. Enter parking from Village Rd.) Parking is immediately adjacent to the front lawn of the museum, where the race start/finish and all related activities will be held. Look for the iconic clock tower!

Note Village Rd. will be closed from 7:45 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on race day.

Race day packet pick-up opens at 6:00 a.m. on the front lawn of the museum. The 5k run starts at 8:00 a.m. The 5K walk starts at  8:01 a.m. The kids mile starts at 9:00 a.m.  Awards will be presented at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Early packet pick-up will be available on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th, at the Beaumont Learning & Innovation Center; 18200 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, MI 48124. (Early packet pick-up will NOT be available at The Henry Ford/Greenfield Village.)

Waiver and Release:

The undersigned acknowledges being aware of the risks, potential hazards and dangers of participating in the Red October Run. I understand that any such run tests physical and mental stamina and my participation can result in injury, even death. I know the risks and potential hazards of the run include, but are not limited to those associated with: terrain, curbs, road and path conditions, running surfaces, historical surfaces, facilities, and conditions, temperature, weather, vehicular traffic, actions of other participants, spectators and/or volunteers, as well as lack of hydration (water). In consideration of Beaumont Health, The Edison Institute d/b/a The Henry Ford and all sponsors of this event (collectively “organizers”) accepting my entry form and allowing me to participate in the Red October Run, I do hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, waive and release any and all rights to claims or lawsuits for damages or injury, even death, which I or my estate may have or which may later accrue from my attendance and/or participation in this event and specifically against the organizers, and their employees, agents, representatives or assigns. I further waive any liability whatsoever against the event organizers and agree to hold them harmless for injuries or death which may be suffered by me at said run, or which may arise out of traveling to, participating in, and returning from this event, including any activities in which I engage while at or on the grounds of The Henry Ford before, during, or after the event. Further, I consent to being photographed (including videotaped) and my likeness being used for any reasonable purpose of the organizers. I also understand my application fee is non-refundable. The organizers reserve the right to cancel this event on race day due to electrical storm or other extreme conditions. In such instance, the event will not be re-scheduled and refunds will not be issued.


Strollers will not be allowed in the 5k Run or 5K Walk!

No skates, scooters, tricycles, bikes or wagons allowed on any course

Absolutely no pets allowed on the grounds.
