2018 Beaumont Red October Run through Greenfield Village

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to run 5 kilometers through 300 years of American history!  Back by popular demand, the Beaumont Red October Run will return to the beautiful and historic Greenfield Village in 2018! Featured events include a 5K run, 5K walk and non-competitive 1 mile “Jr. October” for kids 12 and under.  Commemorative swag includes sharp shirts and finisher medals for runners, walkers and junior milers; and event-customized, name personalized number bibs. (Name personalization not available after 9/19.) 5K course is certified (cert. code MI18028MN).  Additional amenities and highlights include separate starts and award structures for 5K runners and walkers; B-tag timing with immediate access to results; cider, donuts and other yummy post-race treats; fit and healthy displays; and, new for 2018, FREE PARTICIPANT PHOTOS!

Red October Run offers a unique opportunity to participate in an organized run through this fantastic venue, outside of normal operating hours and unobstructed by patron foot traffic. Note, due to hours of operation, runners and walkers should be able to maintain a 22 minute per mile or faster pace.

All registered participants receive FREE POST-RACE ADMISSION to Greenfield Village –a perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy!

A longstanding celebration of fitness and activity as part of a healthy lifestyle, Red October Run supports youth fitness and nutrition education programs in conjunction with Beaumont’s Healthy Communities Initiative.

Location, schedule, details:

The Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village is located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn, MI 48124. Race parking is on the corner of Oakwood Blvd. and Village Rd. (This is where the museum's Welcome Center and Giant Screen Experience are. Enter parking from Village Rd.) Parking is immediately adjacent to the front lawn of the museum, where the race start/finish and all related activities will be held. Look for the iconic clock tower!

Note Village Rd. will be closed from 7:45 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on race day.

Race day packet pick-up opens at 6:00 a.m. on the front lawn of the museum. The 5k run starts at 8:00 a.m. The 5K walk starts at  8:01 a.m. The kids mile starts at 9:00 a.m.  Awards will be presented at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Early packet pick-up will be available on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th, at the Beaumont Learning & Innovation Center; 18200 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, MI 48124. (Early packet pick-up will NOT be available at The Henry Ford/Greenfield Village.)
